President of the Croatian National Council of Montenegro, Zvonimir Deković, handed the thank-you note to Bogić Rakočević, director of the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” for his many years of work and engagement on the full respect and affirmation of the Croatian community in Montenegro.
According to the thank-you note, Rakočević has created, initiated and followed a series of programs that have strongly contributed to the affirmation of Croatian ethnic and cultural specialty in Montenegro over the past ten years.
Giving thanks to this acknowledgment, Rakočević pointed out that the Library belongs to all the people who live in it and everyone is equally represented in its programs. Literary evenings dedicated to the Croatian writers from Boka, Viktor Vida and Frano Alfirević have been recently held in the Library, and soon there will be presentation of the contemporary Croatian literature.
Cooperation with the Croatian National Council is also reflected in the exchange of books. Recently, the Library gave a significant number of titles to the Council, and on that occasion Mr. Deković presented a series of Croatian publications to NLM.
