President of the Parliament of Montenegro Ivan Brajović visited the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” on Tuesday, February 20.
During his working visit, Brajović and his associates visited Njegoš’s room and an exhibition of books and documents prepared by the Library within the International Mother Language Day in cooperation with the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts and the University of Montenegro.
According to Brajovic, getting the international code for the Montenegrin language remained insufficiently noticed in public while it is of great importance for the culture and national identity of Montenegro.
The President of the Parliament gave special recognition to educators, hundreds and thousands of anonymous enthusiasts who literate young people, as well as to employees in all Montenegrin libraries who preserve book holdings.
“Every educational and library worker is a sincere preciousness because they educate our young people. Hundreds of thousands of these anonymous people teach children and young people to read and nurture national values” said Brajović, adding that the National Library is all together – Montenegrin continuity, a Montenegrin lasting and Montenegrin honor.
The director of the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” Bogić Rakočević expressed his gratitude to the President of the Parliament for the importance that he continually gives to the identity issues of Montenegro, as well as for the logistical support that the Parliament wishes to provide for the development of the cultural mission that the National Library has.
“Thanks to codification of the Montenegrin language, our language is shoulder to shoulder with all the languages of the world that are standardized and accepted, which means that everything related to Montenegro, publishing and culture will be marked by abbreviation CNR”, said Rakocević.
