On October 20, the library curators from China and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) met in Hangzhou, China, on the occasion of the 1st China- CEEC Curators’ Forum of Libraries Union.
The aim was to establish the union that will empower the cultural exchange and cooperation in the field of library and information sciences among the libraries included. 61 libraries from China-CEEC, represented by 160 participants from China and abroad, became members of the Union.
The delegates of the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević“ were Director of the Library, Bogić Rakočević and Publications Manager; Slađana Sjekloća.
Statement on Establishment of China-CEEC Libraries Union and Action Plan of China-CEEC Libraries Union, the two files on which the Union are based, were fully supported by all delegates, followed by a signing ceremony hosted by Lu Xiaolong, deputy director of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Film, Press and Publication, China.
Four roundtable panels took place on October 21: “How can Libraries Promote the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals ”, “Libraries and Nationwide Reading Promotion”, “Libraries and Protection of Cultural Heritages” and “Librarians in the Future — Transformation • Competence • Skills”.
