In early 2006, we started preparations in connection with the implementation of the Project of restoration, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the facility hosting the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević” (building of the former Italian Embassy) from the funds donated by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, in total amount of € 414,290.32.
The works on rehabilitation, reconstruction and renovation of the building began in 2006 and continued the next year with the new contractor.
From the Government of Slovenia and IZUM from Maribor, NLM “Đurđe Crnojević” received donation in the amount of € 117,248 for the adaptation and equipping of COBISS center of Montenegro.

Works were performed thanks to the donation provided by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, Government of the Republic of Slovenia, IZUM from Maribor and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Media of Montenegro:

2009.
In 2008, Center for International Cooperation and Development (CMSR) provided funds for equipping schools and libraries in Montenegro, in the amount of 500,000 €. Donor has allocated € 200,000 of the total amount for equipping NLM “Đurđe Crnojević” with the office furniture and other necessary fittings. An annex to the agreement on the division of funds was concluded between CMSR, the Ministry of Education and Science of Montenegro, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Media of Montenegro and the NLM “Đurđe Crnojević” in the purpose of the project implementation.
2010.
In this year, works on the reconstruction and adaptation of the former Italian Embassy building were continued. The Ministry of Culture in 2010 allocated funds in the amount of € 10,000 for the renovation of the ground floor of the former Italian Embassy. € 10,256.70 from the funds of the project “Cetinje – City of Culture” was allocated to the renovation of the ground floor of the main building. The renovation of the ground floor of the building was successfully completed. It includes a reading-room, entrance hall and formal hall intended for organizing exhibitions, cultural events, promotions and the like. After the work was completed, this part of the building was equipped with modern and functional furniture obtained thanks to the donation of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia.
2013.
Works on the building of the former French Embassy were carried out through the sub-grant agreement with an international organization Regional Cooperation Council Task Force on Culture and Society. Emergency interventions in total amount of € 7,946.23 were conducted in order to repair electrical installations which included dismantling the existing circuit breakers and fuses and circuit testing, delivery and installation of automatic fuses, wiring and lighting;
A major project for the building of the former French Embassy in the value of € 30,000 was developed thanks to the donation of “Ljubljana Process”, which entrusted this job to the company “Građenje” d.o.o. from Sarajevo.
The grant received from the Secretariat of the Working Group on Culture and Society – The Regional Cooperation Council (RCCTFCS) amounts € 6,400.00 and it is intended to the urgent rehabilitation of wiring in the Library (the former French Embassy building).
