The promotion of the latest edition of the NLM, a book of poetry by Milika Pavlović entitled “Slovnik duše” was held last night in the National Library of Montenegro “Đurđe Crnojević”.
NLM director Dragica Lompar, historian Srđa Pavlović and writer Miraš Martinović spoke at the promotion.
Dragica Lompar expressed her satisfaction with such a representative edition of Milika Pavlović's poetry book and said that “in recent months she has been carefully familiarizing herself with the wonderful verses, with the play of words, with the richness of his and our Montenegrin language” and that she believes that "encountering his verses will encourage us to understand that it is up to us if we truly want to follow the trends of Montenegrin literature and respect our own values”.
Srđa Pavlović pointed out that the work on this book and the collaboration with Miraš Martinović and Aldemar Ibrahimović helped him to get to know his father as a poet, which is quite different from the impressions and experiences he has from everyday life with him as a parent. He explained how the process of selecting poems went and how much our writer Miraš Martinović helped him in that. Together, they made sure that his idea was realized in such a beautiful way.
Miraš Martinović spoke about the talent of Milika Pavlović, his strong, exceptional personality and the courage to tell the truth when everyone else was silent. He explained that poetry is like a river of an abyss, that it never disappears and that great poets and their verses can also never disappear. They may be temporarily forgotten, but they always go back to the surface.
The academic painter Aldemar Ibrahimović and the actress of the Montenegrin National Theater Ana Vujošević made sure for the evening to be enriched by other forms of art.
Ten unique and themed oil paintings and drawings by Mr. Ibrahimović, which make up the book's artwork, were exhibited in the library hall, while selected verses by Milika Pavlović were spoken by Mrs. Vujošević.
